Sacha Shaw, out there, looking for the next story:
I am always looking for connections and collaborations, especially on investigative impact pieces.
Currently completing a Masters at Columbia University, focusing on data journalism and international reporting.
I recently travelled from Australia to Canada (sans aeroplanes). From election watching in Timor-Leste and Thailand to on-the-ground reporting on international ‘development’ in rural Nepal and flood recovery programs in south Pakistan, I am motivated to communicate stories with impact. Stories from the all-too-often overlooked. Stories that confront and challenge, stories that change minds.
International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) registered, member of the Canadian Freelance Guild and Overseas Press Club.
Publications include The Diplomat, National Observer, New Security Beat, ARENA, Independent Australia, Pearls and Irritation, and the ABC, as well as features in The Guardian, The Gloss, and Climactic.
Background:
An academic foundation in environmental sociology at RMIT and a specialization in novel international environmental law formation at UNSW Canberra/Australian Defence Force.
I was also a researcher at the University of Sydney’s Environment Institute (SEI), understanding how communities are reacting to the impacts of climate change in Australia and India.
